Let Educate ME help you find your dream school!
Who We Are
Educate ME Foundation, Inc. is a social enterprise determined to increase the number of men and women of color in the field of education.
We seek to change the education system by creating a continuum for men and women of color to grow, achieve, and succeed from high school to career.
By recruiting students of color in high school, college and career changers who are interested in pursuing a career in education, we create a cohort of students who learn, motivate, and achieve together on the path teacher certification and beyond.
Educate ME partners with teacher prep programs, organizations, and universities to ensure our recruited candidates can receive the proper training and support on the path to become a full time certified educator.
Educate ME provides support and professional development services through trainings, workshops, and professional mentorship to these current and aspiring educators.
Through teacher mentorship, partnerships, and professional placement Educate ME Foundation strives to inspire our current educators to encourage and empower the next generation of educators of color. Sparking the continuum to begin again.
The Educate ME Foundation’s Black Teacher Residency (BTR) is a teacher pathway program for aspiring educators providing cohort support, 1:1 guidance, and financial assistance.
In partnership with Marian University’s Klipsch Educators College located in Indianapolis, IN, candidates will earn a Master of Art in Teaching degree while employed full-time within a K-12 partner school. The BTR culminates after two years when candidates earn a graduate degree and full teaching licensure.
In "The MVPs of Education: Strategies for Combating the Teacher Shortage and Diversifying the Teacher Workforce," Blake shares his innovative approach to recruiting, developing, and retaining teachers of color. Drawing from his own experiences and the success of Educate ME Foundation, he outlines the most valuable processes for building a diverse and effective teaching force.
Thank you to our dedicated partners that are supporting us in our efforts to diversify the teacher workforce by recruiting and retaining more educators of color.
