Our Model

Recruitment

By recruiting students of color in high school, college and career changers who are interested in pursuing a career in education, we create a cohort of students who learn, motivate, and achieve together on the path teacher certification and beyond.

Develop

Educate ME partners with teacher prep programs, organizations, and universities to ensure our recruited candidates can receive the proper training and support on the path to become a full time certified educator.

Retain

Educate ME provides support and professional development services through trainings, workshops, and professional mentorship to these current and aspiring educators.

Empower

Through teacher mentorship, partnerships, and professional placement Educate ME Foundation strives to inspire our current educators to encourage and empower the next generation of educators of color. Sparking the continuum to begin again.

The Educate ME Foundation’s Black Teacher Residency (BTR) is a teacher pathway program for aspiring educators providing cohort support, 1:1 guidance, and financial assistance.

In partnership with Marian University’s Klipsch Educators College located in Indianapolis, IN, candidates will earn a Master of Art in Teaching degree while employed full-time within a K-12 partner school.  The BTR culminates after two years when candidates earn a graduate degree and full teaching licensure.
